Jessica completed hands-on training in core molecular-biology techniques, including genomic DNA extraction, polymerase chain reaction amplification and agarose gel electrophoresis, through the DNA Learning Center of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory [1]. Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is one of the world's foremost centres for molecular biology and genetics education, and its Learning Center delivers structured, protocol-based laboratory instruction [1]. The training grounded her in the standard workflow for isolating, amplifying and visualising nucleic acids that underlies much of modern genetics and diagnostics. These techniques connect naturally to the transcriptomic and single-cell methods central to her current osteoarthritis research.
