Jessica's longer-term research interest sits at the intersection of cytoskeletal biology and joint disease: how mechanical and inflammatory signals are integrated at the single-cell level to drive chondrocyte dedifferentiation, and how that process could be tracked or intercepted using precision diagnostic tools. She is particularly drawn to combining high-content single-cell imaging with rigorous statistical methodology, an interest shaped directly by her parallel work applying EQUATOR/REMARK reporting standards and multivariable fractional polynomial methods at the Institute for Medical Biometry and Statistics (IMBI). She is looking to extend this work into a doctoral project examining mechanotransduction pathways in chondrocyte dysfunction as a route toward better-targeted osteoarthritis therapeutics.Jessicas langfristiges Forschungsinteresse liegt an der Schnittstelle von Zytoskelettbiologie und Gelenkerkrankungen: wie mechanische und entzündliche Signale auf Einzelzellebene integriert werden und zur Dedifferenzierung von Chondrozyten führen, und wie dieser Prozess mit präzisionsdiagnostischen Werkzeugen verfolgt oder unterbrochen werden könnte. Besonders interessiert sie die Kombination aus hochauflösender Einzelzell-Bildgebung und rigoroser statistischer Methodik, ein Interesse, das unmittelbar durch ihre parallele Arbeit mit EQUATOR-/REMARK-Berichtsstandards und multivariablen fraktionalen Polynommethoden am Institut für Medizinische Biometrie und Statistik (IMBI) geprägt wurde. Sie möchte diese Arbeit zu einem Promotionsprojekt ausbauen, das Mechanotransduktionswege bei Chondrozytendysfunktion untersucht, als Weg zu gezielteren Arthrosetherapien.
