Research Interests

Jessica's longer-term research interest sits at the intersection of cytoskeletal biology and joint disease: how mechanical and inflammatory signals are integrated at the single-cell level to drive chondrocyte dedifferentiation, and how that process could be tracked or intercepted using precision diagnostic tools. She is particularly drawn to combining high-content single-cell imaging with rigorous statistical methodology, an interest shaped directly by her parallel work applying EQUATOR/REMARK reporting standards and multivariable fractional polynomial methods at the Institute for Medical Biometry and Statistics (IMBI). She is looking to extend this work into a doctoral project examining mechanotransduction pathways in chondrocyte dysfunction as a route toward better-targeted osteoarthritis therapeutics.
